HOW WE CAN HELP

Our team of family social workers & wellbeing navigators can help out with the following areas:

  • Mental health issues

  • Alcohol/drug abuse or gambling addiction

  • Abuse when you were a child

  • Serious problems with your partner or family/whānau

  • Making sure your child is healthy and growing strong

  • Looking after a child with a disability or special needs

  • Young or single parent needing extra support.

If you relate to any of these experiences, you’re likely a good fit for one of our programmes - Fathers For Families, Family Start, or Incredible Years. Scroll down to learn more.

FATHERS FOR FAMILIES

A groundbreaking 10-week programme and mentoring peer-support group for fathers, who want to become the best dads they can be.

The 10-week Initiation programme is based in Wiri, Waiuku & Pukekohe. It offers a space for fathers to learn new skills and listen to each other.

Graduates of the programme are invited to become part of The Circle Peer Support Group, who gather regularly to chat, have some kai, work out at the gym, and support each other on their journey.

FAMILY START

A home-visiting programme for whānau in Manukau and Franklin who have a pregnant mum at home or an infant up to 12 months old.

We match you with a dedicated family wellbeing navigator to support you through your child’s early life.

The family wellbeing navigator will help you with setting goals, making a plan, and figuring out the areas in your life that you need support with.

We will also connect you with other services to help you out, and case manage everything so you can focus on your kids.

INCREDIBLE YEARS

A 14-week course to teach mums and dads effective parenting tools and tricks for bringing up kids between the ages of three and eight.

Topics covered in the programme include developing your child’s social and emotional skills, self-regulation and school readiness.

We run Incredible Years from our offices in Wiri, Manukau, in 14 sessions of about two hours.

Onsite babysitting services are provided, and feel free to talk to us if transport is a problem - we can sort something out.
